Waza Craft Fuzz Pedal with two sound modes for flexible sound design
With the Boss FZ-1W Fuzz, the Japanese effects company sends a flexible distortion pedal into the race as part of the noble Waza Craft series, which combines the best sound characteristics of traditional and modern fuzz circuits in a practical compact pedal format. The fully analog circuitry of the Japanese-made Waza Craft Fuzz relies on top-notch silicon transistors for sound generation and offers two characterful sound layers with Vintage and Modern modes. In addition to the usual fuzz and level controls, the effect pedal features a tone control that provides a separate control characteristic for each sound mode of the pedal.
Vintage Mode
The Vintage mode of the FZ-1W Waza Craft Fuzz is based on the traditional Fuzz pedals of the Sixties and Seventies. Accordingly, an aggressive and rough, but never harsh sound with almost endless Sustain is available, which responds excellently to the guitar Volume and the playing dynamics, allowing smooth changes from glassy cleans to juicy distortion and back. In Vintage mode, the Tone knob simultaneously affects the bass and treble in the signal, providing a wide range of premium fuzz tones.
Modern Mode
The Modern sound mode of the FZ-1W Fuzz offers a precise sound whose fat character and focused mids are well suited to modern sonic ideas. Turning the Gain knob up past the 3 o'clock position elicits an extremely saturated sound with nearly endless, singing sustains from the Modern mode. In this mode, the Tone knob determines the brightness and clarity of the sound without affecting the extremely assertive midrange spectrum.
