The Diamond Comp Junior Compressor Guitar Effect Pedal is an optical compressor with an incredibly smooth attack due to its vactrol LED opto-isolator. The signal is fed to a tilt EQ, a feature more often seen in high-end stereo equipment, which is adjustable via the EQ knob for a wide frequency sweep. Indeed, much of the versatility of this pedal comes from the EQ knob working with both your guitar and amp – use volume and compression to tame the tone once found, and your sound should audibly fatten and round out. Used in a more experimental fashion, perhaps in conjunction with overdrive and distortion effects, this pedal can produce some unexpected textures.
