Description

Chorus effect plugin with analog double path delay

The D16 Syntorus from the D16 Group is a chorus effect plug-in that delivers a rich, rich sound by emulating two analog delay tracks and a tremolo effect. Although there are many different chrouse effect plugins on the market, finding one that delivers the classic analog chrouse sound is easier said than done. Even with many high-priced units with extended control parameters, it can be a challenge to tease out this Vintage chorus sound. D16 Group developed the Syntorus as a plugin that emulates the full analog chorus found as an effect on classic synthesizers like the Solina, Synthex or Juno.

The Syntorus has a unique sound that gives fullness to any instrument with which it is used. Synthetic basses and lead instruments are brought to life. But it also lends extra depth and warmth to acoustic instruments. Whether you're an electronic musician, traditional keyboard pianist or guitarist, you'll be impressed by the vintage sounds of Syntorus.

Analog Delay Track

The delay track module is the heart of every chorus module. A chorus effect is created by playing one or more delayed, pitch-modulated tracks of the raw signal simultaneously with the raw signal. In order to give the Syntorus its unique sound, a very precise model of a high-quality analog delay has been converted into digital form. This gives the syntorus a very harmonic and warm delay track without unwanted digital artifacts.
The architecture of the Syntorus plugin also contains the emulation of an analog delay effect with so-called Bucket Brigade Devices (BBDs). If this feature is activated, additional heat and the typical character of such analog effect devices are projected onto the raw signal. When the BBD feature is turned off, the Syntorus works as an exceptionally high-quality chorus effect, with a clean and clear sound spectrum.

Double delay track

In most chorus effects, a single delay track is used to create the chorus effect. The Syntorus decided to use two high-quality analog delays for a richer, fuller and deeper sound. These two tracks can be set to work separately or to operate in master/slave mode. This allows full control over all parameters of the signal path to achieve absolute freedom in shaping the desired sound.

tremolo

Both delay tracks of the Syntorus are also provided with a tremolo effect controlled by an LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) - extremely useful when applying the effect to a Rhodes keyboard or guitar.
The tremolo effect can be used alone, or added to the delay signal to create more dynamic and wobbly sounds.

Complete synchronization of the LFO with the main application

Each LFO can be synchronized with the host application (e.g. Cubase). In this mode, the period of the LFO depends on the host tempo and is set as the clock. This feature is a standard feature of most plugins, but in the syntorus the LFO Phase is also perfectly synchronized with the position in the song. This guarantees that the chorus effect will always sound exactly the same, no matter where the syntorus is used in the Timeline song or project.
