Authentic replication of Eddie van Halen's homemade eruption guitar
With the '78 EVH Eruption Relic , Eddie van Halen presents an exact replication down to the smallest detail of the legendary electric guitar with which he recorded the groundbreaking song "Eruption" in 1978. Based on Eddie's homemade Super Strat , the electric guitar has an ash body with an exactly reproduced striped finish, while the screwed neck and fingerboard use birdseye maple. A EVH Frankenstein Humbucker bridge position combined with a EVH Bourns Low friction Potentiometer provides the adequate hot sound. A classic Stratocaster Synchronized Tremolo with brass block from Kluson serves as a bridge, while Schaller die-cast mechanisms on the head plate ensure precise tuning. Last but not least, the '78 EVH eruption Relic comes with a certificate and great Case candies in an exactly reproduced G&G case.
The '78 EVH Eruption Relic is Eddie van Halen's homemade electric guitar, with which he played the groundbreaking eruption solo, modeled down to the smallest detail.

EVH '78 Authentic eruption Relic construction
Original Following the exact specifications of Eddie van Halens himself, the '78 EVH eruption Relic has a classic Stratocaster ash body wrapped in the trademark striped finish. The Neckplate neck of the EVH eruption Relic is made of birdseye maple in two parts, the flat neck profile and the low " Mowed Down Jumbo " frets let the fingers fly by themselves over the birdseye maple fingerboard, in which Dot inlays of Katalox wood mark the layers.
The EVH Frankenstein Humbucker bridge position provides the hot sound conversion, while the Low friction volume potentiometer convinces with a low rotational resistance.
EVH Frankenstein Humbucker and Low friction Potentiometer
The adequate sound conversion of the EVH '78 eruption Relic is also ensured by a EVH Frankenstein Humbucker in bar position. Manufactured to the exact specifications of the legendary Original pickup, the pickup has a DC resistance of 14.4 kOhm and delivers a hot sound image with sharply focused attack and high assertiveness that supports tapping solos as well as driving riff work. For volume control over the pickup, a EVH Bourns Low Friction Potentiometer is also available in the hand-cut Pickguard version, whose low torsional resistance enables particularly smooth volume swells.
Six classic Schaller tuners on the headstock of the EVH eruption Relic ensure precise and stable tuning.
Exactly reproduced Hardware
Of course, the Hardware equipment of the '78 EVH Eruption Relic is also based on the Original smallest details. The bridge is a classic Stratocaster Synchronized Tremolo with brass block from Kluson , while the headstock Die-Cast mechanics Schaller guarantee a safe atmosphere even when the Whammy-Bar is used unrestrained. Another typical feature of Eddie van Halen is the use of eyebolts as belt holders, which complement the matching snap hooks on the belt supplied.
