LP construction made of mahogany and maple
Following the LP recipe that has been known for seven decades, the famous singlecut body is made of solid mahogany and finished with an equally solid maple top with ergonomic arching. The mahogany neck, on the other hand, is glued to the body via a slim neck heel and, with its 1959 Rounded Medium C shape, provides a typical neck profile of the Late Fifties Paula. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s offers both experienced vintage fans and modern players the right basis for cultivated riffing, and there are no limits to creativity across all 22 frets.
Epiphone ProBucker Puckups
The classic pickup configuration of a well-kept Les Paul is traditionally made up of two humbucker pickups. For the Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s, Epiphone uses an Epiphone ProBucker-1 in the neck position and a ProBucker-2 humbucker in the bridge position. The two double-coil pickups are matched to the respective position in terms of their winding numbers in order to provide a good Mix with balanced Output even in the intermediate position. The underlying '50s wiring is hand-wired and relies on high-quality CTS potentiometers.
