Reissue of the 1950 Fender Broadcaster, including case and certificate
With the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster MN Blackguard Blonde electric guitar, Fender revives the original Broadcaster for the first time since 1950, whose name had to be changed to "Telecaster" shortly after its launch in 1950 due to a legal injunction. Following the historical guidelines, the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster features a nitro-lacquered Ash body and a bolt-on Maple neck in the powerful "'50 Broadcaster U" profile. Two Fender Custom Shop-designed '50 - '51 Broadcaster single-coil pickups also deliver authentic vintage sounds with crisp twang in attack and assertive highs. The Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster is completed by a classic Telecaster bridge with string routing through the body and vintage-style tuners. In addition to a high-quality guitar case and a certificate of authenticity, a wiring kit for the original "Blend" circuitry is included with the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster MN Blackguard Blonde.
The Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster MN Blackguard Blonde is an authentic remake of the broadcasters from 1950.
From Broadcaster to Telecaster
After the successful market launch of the pickup-equipped Esquire in spring 1950, Leo Fender released his first electric guitar with two pickups and a tension rod for adjusting the neck under the name "Broadcaster" in autumn of the same year. A few months after the successful sales launch of the 2-pickup model, however, Gretsch initiated legal action against Fender's Broadcaster, as the company already held the "BroadKaster" trademark for drums. Until the new name was given, the already printed headstock decals were pragmatically shortened by the "Broadcaster" lettering, thus establishing the legendary "Nocaster" era. In the summer of 1951, the name "Telecaster" was finally chosen for the new electric guitar, which since then has established itself as a legendary and popular name in the music scene. In addition to Reissues from the Fender Custom Shop, guitarists now have the opportunity for the first time since 1950 to purchase a Fender Broadcaster from regular US production!
The neck and body of the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster are bolted together using a special neck plate.
70th Anniversary Broadcaster in authentic design
For the construction of the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster MN Blackguard Blonde, Fender has naturally drawn on its own history and equipped the electric guitar with an Ash body whose grain remains visible through the transparent nitrocellulose finish. The bolt-on one-piece Maple neck with its strong "'50 Broadcaster U" neck profile and classic 7.25" fretboard radius also offers the authentic vintage feeling for the classic playing techniques of Country, Blues and Rock.
Two '50 - '51 Blackguard single-coil pickups designed by the Fender Custom Shop promise authentic vintage twang sounds.
Authentic Vintage Sound
The electric sound conversion of the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster MN Blackguard Blonde is handled by two Fender '50 - '51 single coils. Designed by the vintage specialists at the Fender Custom Shop, the pickups deliver an authentic vintage tele sound that brings both clean and overdrive sounds to life with the characteristic twang and brilliant highs. The pickups are controlled by the modern Telecaster circuit with 3-way blade switch for pickup selection and master volume and master tone. For friends of absolutely authentic vintage guitars, an additional wiring kit is also included with the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster, which includes the historically correct "blend" circuitry.

Historically correct hardware equipment
Last but not least the Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster MN Blackguard Blonde convinces with a historically accurate and reliable hardware configuration. The traditional 3-Saddle-Bridge with string routing through the body and three brass "barrel" string saddles contributes significantly to the crisp twang in the overall sound. The strings are also guided over a bone saddle at the headstock before they find their way to precise and tuning stable Fender vintage style tuners.
