The Gibson Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul Standard VOS Patch Burst features a rarely seen burst finish that mimics the fading of the brand-new Cherry Sunburst in the windows of many 1950s guitar stores. For instance, a spot in deep cherry red below the toggle switch marks the area that was protected from sunlight by a hang tag and thus could not fade to Iced Tea. The Gibson Custom Shop uses the historically correct '59 specifications: This electric guitar features a lightmahogany body with a chic flamed maple top and a one-piece mahogany neckwith long neck tenon and rosewood fretboard. In addition, the use of hide glue guarantees a particularly lively sound, whereas the not too strongly executed, C-shaped "59 Historic Reissue" profile convinces with exceptional playability. The Gibson Custombucker pickups placed on the neck and bridge guarantee authentic vintage sounds in the style of the legendary PAFs. Equipped with Alnico III magnets, they deliver airy sounds with warm mids and organic dynamics. Historically accurate hardware in the form of an aluminum stopbar, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Kluson Deluxe single band/single ring tuners complete the Gibson Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul Standard VOS Patch Burst.
