The heart of the Hughes & Kettner AmpMan Modern is undoubtedly the innovative Spirit Tone Generator, which, in conjunction with the Sagging control available in each channel, delivers the authentic compression and breakup behavior of a full-blown tube amp. The Vintage channel covers the entire range of American and British clean sounds, while the Metal channel more than lives up to its name, offering maximum gain reserves for the aggressive sounds of modern heavy metal. To adjust the sound, each channel has controls for Gain, Tone, Resonance, Presence and Volume.

Two Volumes, Noise Gate and Effects Loop

In addition, the Hughes & Kettner Amp Man offers two master volumes which, in conjunction with the solo footswitch, allow you to set and recall different volume levels. The integrated Intelligent Dual Breakpoint Noise Gate also eliminates unwanted hum and noise at high volume and gain settings, while the switchable effects loop allows you to loop your own effects devices into the signal path.

50 watts and Red Box AE+

Despite its compact format, the AmpMan Modern from Hughes & Kettner comes with a 50-watt solid-state power amp, which allows the pedal amp to unleash surprisingly powerful volume reserves, especially with large guitar cabinets, making it ideal for band rehearsals or club gigs. As a practical highlight, the pedal amplifier for electric guitar offers a Red Box AE+ DI solution, which enables the direct pickup of the signal with natural sound character with eight selectable speaker simulations.
