MFB Snare-522
Analog snare drum
MFB Snare-522 is a drum module for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. The module consists of the extended circuit of the MFB-522 snare drum, whose sound can be extensively edited and modulated. Since the Snare-522 is designed as a modular component, this snare drum offers the possibility to control the four sound parameters snap, snap decay, tune and tone with CV signals from envelopes, LFOs or step sequencers.
Parameters of the MFB Snare-522
SNAP is the intensity of the noise component
SNAP DECAY is the decay time of the noise component, which can be up to 2 seconds.
With TUNE the snare drum is tuned, the range is approx. 100 to 300 Hz
With TONE you can adjust the mixing ratio of the two oscillators of the snare
DECAY controls the tonal decay time of the two oscillators
Triggering the snare drum
The snare drum can be triggered with different signals. It does not necessarily have to be an analog or digital trigger signal; drum pads, piezos or dynamic microphones can also be used. The Sens control adjusts the input sensitivity. With dynamic triggers, not only the volume but also the snap and tone length are affected. The module also has the newly developed M-Bus connection. A MIDI keyboard can easily trigger the module and change knobs via an appropriate MIDI-CV interface or sequencer. The Snare-522 module supports the following signals: Trigger MIDI Note #38 or #40, switchable, with velocity. Controller values for Mix, Decay, Tune, Pitch, Noise and Noise Decay.
