Soma Enner Night Frog Overview
Enner by Soma Laboratory is an analog synthesizer whose sound and circuit design should be quite unique. Besides the many technical components, it is the user himself who becomes part of the instrument. All sound sources, signal paths and intensities are activated and controlled with the contact pads. Since these pads are touched with the hands, the human body becomes part of the circuit, since humans also have small but measurable currents in them. So the basic sound can already vary from user to user and most importantly these changes never happen linearly. All of Enner's pots are metallic and also function as inputs or outputs. Touching a pot can not only change the parameters, but also connect the audio signals.
What can it do?
The control panel holds five oscillators on the right side of the device, which are linked with three ring modulators, among others. In addition, there are some modulation links here. The triangle in the middle provides separate access for the left and right audio channels to the filter matrix, the delay processor and the noise generator with pink sound character. The left side features a tempo generator with various frequency dividers attached to it, plus the audio input that makes Enner an exclusive effects unit and the "playable" spring with piezo pickup.
What does it sound like?
In sum, Enner creates meandering sound collages, strongly resonant sounds, seemingly endless feedback orgies, whistling, scratching, pulsating, metallic tones, drones, ambient noise... If you like, Enner is a laboratory for experimental and unusual sounds.
