Archer's Rig from Shakmat Modular is an extremely versatile percussion module for generating hi-hats. Thanks to its hybrid structure, the module is capable of a wide range of sounds that would otherwise require several different drum modules. The 13 source algorithms generate HiHats in the style of 909, 808 and DR110, but also shakers, bells, noisy sounds and metal FM. A special feature is the External signal source, where you can feed in any signal instead of using one of the algorithms. The source algorithms are followed by the digital effects section, which processes the source sound with FM, ring modulation, comb filter and sample Rate reduction, among other things. This is where the analog signal path begins, starting with a VCA with decay envelope. This is followed by a resonant Multimode filter, a distortion and, as the last instance, a resonance-free low-pass filter, which smoothes out peaks and nasty frequency ranges without further ado. The module is also equipped with a randomizer for random settings and 96 presets for your favourite settings.
