Analogue Solutions' Generator is a three-channel analog step sequencer with variable loop points and pattern variation. The sequencer offers three parallel tracks of 16 steps each, generating voltages from zero to five volts. The start and end points of the series can be defined equally for all three tracks. With only four controls, you have access to different playback patterns that cover all variants from one to sixteen gates.
Each row has its own CV output and transpose input, rows A and B share a gate signal that is output twice. Gate C is inverted and opens whenever A+B do not output a gate. The Voltage Generator (the six touchpads) outputs its voltages via CV & Gate and the Quantised jack, in which case each value over five octaves within the 12-tone scale is matched to the nearest note. Start and end points as well as fill and intensity have their own CV inputs, so nothing stands in the way of a "controlled" pattern change. The generator can run synchronously to other equipment via MIDI, also accepts clock and reset from a modular system and has its own tempo generator, which can even be controlled via CV.
Analog sequencers have always been the bulwark for driving and hypnotic basslines and repeating modulation loops. Let's imagine, Generator controls an analog synthesizer via CV & Gate A, Row B controls its cutoff parameters and Row C controls internally patched "Intensity" or "Fill" to change the pattern with every step; or the LFO speed of said synth. It's a source of endless inspiration!
