Aloysius by Expert Sleepers is an envelope with a rare AHDW configuration (Attack/Hold/Decay/Wait), which is also called a trapezoidal generator. The trapezoidal generator can be found in retro classics like the EMS VCS3, EMS Synthi AKS and modern interpretations like the Erica Synths Syntrx. Expert Sleepers has thought the circuit further and added some special features. All envelope times can be controlled by CV. The envelope can be set to auto-trigger, which turns it into a complex voltage-controlled LFO. The waveform of the Attack and Decay parameters can be continuously adjusted from exponential to linear to logarithmic. The module is built entirely with analogue components and discrete logic. There is no microcontroller and no digital-to-analogue conversion and thus no quantization of voltage levels or response time.
