With the Fulltone 70BC Fuzz, effects guru Michael Fuller creates a classic Vintage fuzz in the tradition of the fuzzfaces of the early seventies. While the early Arbiter Fuzz still relied on NKT275 germanium transistors, the later Dallas Arbiter from 1970 offered a much more powerful fuzz sound with its BC108-C transistors and added distortion. The Fulltone 70BC clearly aims at these iconic sounds and also uses old NOS BC108-C transistors to get as close as possible to the original character. In addition, Michael was able to incorporate some modifications inspired by Eric Johnson's original Blue fuzzface and gave the 70BC Fuzz a mid knob for additional control over the mid-range and an internal trim pot for bias adjustment, allowing the pedal to recall a tremendous variety of possible fuzz sounds.
