The J&D PB Mini Electric Bass (Black) is a 4-String Instrument ideally suited to children who want to start playing the Bass from a young age and require a smaller, lighter model that they can play with ease.
Although aimed at children, the PB Mini has been constructed using professional grade components including a solid Alder Body, Maple Neck and a 20x Fret Rosewood Fingerboard layered over a 29” Scale making it perfect for smaller hands.
The J&D PB Mini also features a Split-Coil Pick-Up (controlled via a single Tone and Volume Pot) which is more than capable of producing an impressive collection of vintage Bass sounds. The PB Mini is finished in black with a Tortoise-Shell Scratch Plate.

I've been playing guitar for 51 years. I can also "stand in" on bass, and have played several. I prefer Fenders, but that may be because of name recognition. My primary requirements on a guitar are humbuckers, light weight (6-7 lbs), and a thin, easy to play neck.
Anyway, I've owned a "short scale" bass for about ten years - a record for me owning a single instrument. Probably because I didn't play it much. Short scale for ease of reach and weight reduction.
Enter this J&D Mini - a bass guitar scaled to actually fit in the same case as a strat. So weight reduction, a very fast friendly neck, sounds good, and looks great. Fit and finish are very good, especially for the price point. I lowered the bridge a bit, plugged it in to my PA rig because my guitar amp wouldn't do it justice.
Though I focus on guitar, I'm buying a sizeable bass amp because I'm so impressed with the ease of playability of this little beauty.
Having bought numerous Gibsons, USA Fenders, and USA PRS's, I would recommend this to anyone who wouldn't turn their nose at this bass just because it's a "mini".
Well done J&D.
Good little bass...needs tuning...(i replaced the bridge on Gotoh 201b and 3-string retainer...pickup - worker...Ideally can replace potentiometers and pickups, but Im satisfied so far) wood is good...completed D*Addario strings...sounds like a classic precision bass...good fingerstyle and slapping.
I bought this as I needed a small bass for home recording. The construction is sound, the elegant touch of the tortoiseshell pickguard, punchy, accurate P bass sounds... All in all, excellent value for money.
Bought this for my 8yr old son to learn on as all mine are 34”.
Fantastic value for money and the sound is great. Couple of sharp frets but otherwise It was a quick tune as the setup was good.
Really enjoying playing it myself. I don’t know why I didn’t try a short scale sooner.
Purchased for my son for his upcoming 10th birthday. It's going to be a surprise as he has wanted me to teach him bass for a while but he struggles playing a full size guitar.
I plugged it in to give it a try myself and really happy with the feel and sound. It will be an ideal 1st bass guitar. Hopefully 1st of many....
