The Line 6 Spider IV 15 offers incredibly detail rich modeling of the best and most popular amplifiers of all time. Now featuring an integrated tuner, crisp response and even better sounds!
With the current generation of the world famous Spider models, the modeling pioneer Line 6 is setting new benchmarks for realistic sounds and authentic playability. This amplifier series is specially suited for practice sessions and small gigs. Next to the detailed sound image of tube-typical compression and juicy address, the Spider Series is exceptionally well suited as a fantastic jam partner for play-a-longs and jam tracks with an AUX input for CD/MP3 players.
With help from its large 8” speakers, the Line 6 Spider IV delivers 15 Watts of power, making it ideal as a practice amp as well for practice sessions. The 4 selectable amplifier models from Clean and High Gain, which are selectable via the optional FBV Express Board via footswitch, can be saved on 4 internal memory spaces and can then be later reloaded.
In addition, the free “Spider IV Edit” software from Line 6 provides near infinite possibilities, share saved creations with others Spider users, browse Jam tracks or master online lessons sorted by degrees of difficulty. The base sound of these modelling amplifiers is determined by the underlying Amp Model: Clean ensures a sustain-rich, clean sound character which stays together even at slightly at higher gain levels. If you are specifically looking for this effect in order to have dynamic Cleans to slightly dirty sounds, then you will love the crunch. Metal and Insane offer the typical Rhythm as well as Lead High Gain axes of the modern metal genre. Regardless of the Model the Spider IV 15 even provides adjustable modulation effects including delay and reverb, whereby a modulation effect (Chorus Flange / Phaser / Tremolo) can be combined with a reverb or delay effect (Echo / Tape Echo / Reverb Sweep).
Ive had it for a week and a half now, and Im fully satisfied with it.
The 4 preset modes is really handy, but it can wake up a few neighbors if u have significant volume differences.. you have to manually alter any control on the amp.
Apart from this (that is also a unusual feature on these amps price range) the remaining features more than compensate for this.
It also sounds really loud and clear.
I believe that the amp modelling is more directioned towards heavy rock / metal style playing, and it excels there. But if this not your favorite music, this amp has a lot more to offer.
The crunch/distortion/insane modes clearly illustrate the versatility and sound range of this amp. The included 2 independent FXs, especially the vibrato and reverb (my favorite ones) when used with a single coil in the clean and crunch modes can get a pretty good surf vibe going. The clean mode is also good, especially with a bit of reverb and echo.
Summing it up, I feel, when combined with the foot controller, this amp is a winner and strong favorite in this price and specs range.
I got this amp some time ago as a beginner. Bought it for its price and it did sound very good then.
I know people tend to bash this one all the time. But truth be told, if you want something to start you off and see if you like the guitar, you really shouldnt buy a very expensive tube amp.
This does clean to ultra metal in no time, it has a built in tuner which is a great feature, its small and you can play with its effects really easily. You can even tweak you own sound and save it which the best part.
The only "bad" thing I would have to say about it is that it sounds fake compared to a great tube amp. But you know what? This is NOT a fair comparison.
To get that ultra metal sound from a tube amp you have to pay a whole lot of money for a great one, then crank it and push it with a pedal. The tone will be amazing but it would have cost you thousands of euros.
To my mind this is clearly a beginner amp and a great one at that!! It has a variety of features and as an entry level amp, in this price range, its a clear winner!
In any case when youre starting off learning to play guitar you shouldnt invest much, because you might not like it!! Its great to have this and play with its overdrive and distortion at a very reasonable price!
The never ending tone search will come later, and believe me it will cost you thousands of euros for tube amps and pedals and cabs etc! There is no reason to invest so much starting off!!
I would definitely recommend it to anyone starting off!!!
this product was suitable for the needs of my son,

Its a great amp for home rehearsals, I even suspect that this amp can be used at little not so big stages when playing with a band. It really has a ton of features and built-in effects like delay, reverb, flanger and so on which make it very very useful for creative purposes too like creating unique sound for your new song. Combinations of his built-in effects is really nearly infinite so only your imagination could put the boundaries :)
Great buy, Im really satisfied.
