The Data Bender from Qu-Bit Electronix is an "anti-effects module" that outlines a best-of broken media and playback devices. The module processes audio signals in stereo on both the input and output sides. The modified memory records up to five minutes and dissects the material by every trick in the book. Jumping CDs, software errors, broken tape machines, scratched records; the Data Bender is able to do this and more with the audio signal, of course comprehensively CV-controlled. For sound collages, science fiction sounds and especially noise, the module is virtually unrivaled. With a total of 12 CV, gate and clock inputs, the desired chaos can be tamed.
Instant gratification! Sticking a clock signal into the DB creates a rhythmic quality while the glitching/tape randomness still does its thing. The Digital Bitcrushing & Saturation works particularly well with drum loops and will keep me smiling for the foreseeable :)
