The RME 12Mic is the manufacturer's first microphone preamp designed for integration into digital audio networks. Accordingly it features 2 AVB connectors with Neutrik Ethercon connectors (primary and secondary) as well as MADI connections via the optical interface or BNC connectors. Additionally, thanks to its three ADAT outputs, it can serve as a pure converter for any interface. The word clock pair is then used for synchronization. Due to the multiple redundant connection possibilities, the RME 12Mic is also perfectly suited for live applications.
Every signal arriving at the 12Mic can be output with fixed latency either via ADAT or the network. The AVB ports fully implement the MILAN guidelines and IEEE standards, so the unit can easily communicate with any AVB port without the need for a switch.
The built-in USB port is used for firmware updates as well as remote application.
