The Yamaha FSC-TA Ruby Red at a glance

The instruments from the Yamaha TransAcoustic series impress with their extensive and versatile pickup system, which offers the player a variety of uses with its built-in effects and autonomous amplification. Moreover, the Yamaha FSC-TA Ruby Red produces a balanced and warm sound that is excellent for fine picking. The flat neck can be easily operated up to the highest positions thanks to the generous cutaway and has enough space to master even complex fingering patterns with ease. The compensated saddle and the finely notched nut, which are precisely aligned with each other, also speak for the excellent quality of the acoustic guitar. Furthermore, the 6 steel strings can be tuned comfortably with the help of the smooth tuners. Visually, the compact acoustic guitar is rounded off by elegant inlays and Bindings, which tastefully complement the razor-thin high-gloss finish with Ruby Red coloring.

Structure and woods

In order for the small acoustic guitar to produce a rounded yet clear sound, the top is made of solid spruce. The evenly grained tonewood provides the FSC-TA Ruby Red guitar with differentiated midrange and treble frequencies, so that both chords and individual notes come across perfectly. Laminated mahogany back and sides enrich the sound with warm bass frequencies that create a pleasant sound carpet. The flat nato neck is equipped with a rosewood fingerboard, in which 20 frets are incorporated. The bridge is also made of the finest rosewood.

Hardware and design

The saddle and the 43 mm wide nut made of urea ensure clean intonation on the entire scale length of 634 mm. Smooth-running die-cast tuners with chrome hardware are inserted into the headstock, guaranteeing precise tuning of the guitar. The fretboard is marked with discreet dot inlays, which serve for orientation and contrast pleasantly with the rough-grained rosewood. The cream-colored multi-ply bindings separate the individual components of the body and, with their delicate nature, are perfectly matched to the double-ring soundhole rosette. In addition, the top is equipped with a transparent pickguard.

Electronics

The System70 TransAcoustic pickup system is undoubtedly the heart of the acoustic guitar and provides the player with extensive flexibility. The sophisticated system works like a loudspeaker located directly in the instrument. The back of the instrument forms the speaker cone. In addition, the active pickup is equipped with an integrated reverb and chorus effect, which can be conveniently added via the side preamp. The entire pickup system is activated via the push of a button. For use on the big stage, the guitar can also be connected to an external amplifier.
