Woodstock Vision - The Spirit of a Generation: The sixties, the war is raging in Vietnam. A whole generation of young Americans are rebelling against the establishment and turning away from traditional lifestyles. The clock is a new form of music, rousing and pulsating, which promises freedom and social change. A new movement emerges which, wrapped in psychedelic colours, will decisively change the course of history.
Always in the middle: Elliott Landy. With his camera he captures the rebellion of the Woodstock generation. He takes part in demonstrations and sit-ins of the counterculture and is in the front row of the concerts. He collaborates with artists such as Bob Dylan, The Band, Janis Joplin, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison and contributes to the artwork of their albums.
As the official photographer of the Woodstock Festival, Landy managed to capture a moment in history. His photographs not only appear as historical documents, they also bear witness to the special spirit of the Woodstock generation, to the longing for peace and love and the hope for a better world.
