Great device. I don't use the pre-amps much but they sound good for an entry level device. I've been mixing pro stuff here, and it does the job.
The two only problems: (1) device doesn't resume after I close and reopen the lid of my macbook pro, and (2) almost blasts off speakers if they're on when I connect USB cable to pc.
Anyway, it's virtually impossible to get better than this for the price.
under windows, to get asio functioning, you need to go into:
* umc audio control panel
* buffer settings
* select more aggressive usb streaming mode
The Midas pre-amps are simply fantastic. They can be completely clean and accurate, or you can overdrive them. When pushed with a guitar input the sound will move from subtle saturation, to a gentle crunch and then to something like a tube amp driven hard. Build quality appears good and the unit has all the features you could want, including a mono switch which you don't always get on much more expensive kit. This is our second unit - the first has run all day, every day, for several years without problem. Highly recommended.
This unit is a great companion for stream setups. Neat and tidy on the desk, with easy access to the inputs and volume controls. Solid build quality. Outstanding value.
