80 watt guitar amplifier with tube circuit and two channels

The EVH 5150 Iconic Series 80W Head Black is a powerful guitar amp that meets all the demands of a flexible stage and studio amp. The two-channel head with tube circuitry not only delivers the typical van Halen sound for singing solos and burning riffs but also convinces with impeccable clean sounds. While 80 watts of power promise enough volume reserves for big gigs, the FX loop and the balanced XLR Output allow the easy integration of the 5150 Iconic 80W Head into more elaborate rigs.

Two channels with typical 5150 sound

The EVH Iconic 5150 Head's analogue tube circuitry was developed in collaboration with legendary amp genius James Brown, whose ideas have inspired several Eddie van Halen amps. The Lead channel provides the coveted high-gain tone that makes every riff and solo shine through the mix like a blowtorch. If desired, the Burn switch releases additional gain reserves to turn every note into an unbridled sonic inferno. The Clean channel on the other hand convinces with an impeccable and crystal clear reproduction, so that not only alone but also in cooperation with effect pedals a first-class figure makes. Via the overdrive switch, the clean tone can also be boosted to a dynamically acting Overdrive.

Flexible adjustment options

To customize the guitar sound, each channel of the EVH Iconic 5150 Head has its own gain and volume controls. In addition, the Lead channel has a handy noise gate that not only eliminates unwanted noise but also helps accentuate staccato riffs. While the common 3-band tone control adjusts the tone of both channels, the Resonance and Presence controls allow you to tune the treble and bass response in the power amp. To give solos an extra boost, the guitar amp also features a switchable boost.

6L6 Power Amplifier and Connectors

The 80-watt 6L6 power amplifier of the EVH 5150 Iconic Series 80W Head Black promises sufficient volume reserves for large stages. In addition, the power can be reduced to a quarter, and the rich sound of the required power amplifier can be enjoyed even at lower levels. When connecting the guitar speaker cabinet, the amp is flexible thanks to three switchable impedance values, so that it can be integrated into almost any rig. In addition to the serial effect loop for looping in effect devices, the EVH head also features a balanced XLR output that, thanks to speaker simulation, delivers a particularly natural sound for direct recording on stage or in the studio.
