Flame FM Kosmos at a glance
With FM Kosmos, Flame presents a 4-voice polyphonic synthvoice with a focus on FM sounds. The digital sound generation offers 6 operators with 32 algorithms, plus a loopable ADSR envelope and musically relevant parameter ratios for each operator. The latter makes it easy for FM beginners in particular to elicit impressive results from the synthesis. A highlight is the morphing function, which enables morphing between two sounds with the same algorithm, which also includes the effects. The integrated effects processor generates chorus, delay (with clock-sync) and reverb effects in stereo, giving the sounds more depth and spatiality and allowing them to be integrated even better in a rhythmic context. With a total of 256 presets (128 Factory & 128 users), there are enough memory locations to ensure that your own creations are not unique. During the development of FM Kosmos, particular attention was paid to direct and simple operability in live operation. The large Display with encoder and the eight controls make a decisive contribution to this. FM Kosmos is played via MIDI; there is an input for this and the controller movements are also sent out via MIDI. Thanks to the extensive MIDI implementation, users of a master sequencer benefit greatly from this module. If you play the module via CV/Gate, the voices are output in rotation. In addition to Velocity and Morphing, two CV inputs can be assigned to any parameters.
