Custom Shop Les Paul electric guitar with Custom Bucker pickups and Murphy Lab Aging Treatment, including case and certificate
As a tribute to the legendary 1959 Les Paul model, Gibson Custom Shop has collaborated with the aging specialists at Murphy Lab to offer an extremely successful recreation of the original. From the turned wood selection to the hand-wired electronics to the texture of Finish and hardware, the Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Southern Fade Burst Ultra Light Aged truly offers everything a classic '59 Les Paul should.
Maple top and mahogany neck with long neck base.
The basis of the Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Southern Fade Burst Ultra Light Aged is its basic construction of selected tonewoods, as they were already used in the late fifties. Accordingly, the body consists of a solid piece of mahogany and is finished with a two-piece curly maple top with a fancy flame. Of course, in the recipe of a good Fifties Les Paul, the long neck tenon of the mahogany neck, glued up to under the neck pickup, may not be missing.
Gibson Custom Bucker with Paper-in-Oil Caps
For appropriate sounds of the legendary PAF humbucker, Gibson relies on successful replicas of the coveted dual coils with two Custom Bucker humbuckers. Hand-wound at Gibson Custom Shop, the pickups feature Alnico III magnets for a warm and vocal tone character and have non-waxed coils, clearly preserving the treble content in the signal. The electronics wiring is also completely hand-wired and holds original components of the golden LP era with CTS potentiometers for volume and tone and oil-paper capacitors.
Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged Treatment
Created by aging legend Tom Murphy, the Murphy Lab is a series of experts who analyze in detail the finish and aging process of the hardware of original instruments and authentically recreate them as part of the 1959 Les Paul Standard Southern Fade Burst Ultra Light Aged. The Ultra Light Aged Treatment replicates Murphy Lab's lightest aging process and simulates the few signs of wear on an amazingly well-maintained instrument that shows only a few age-related traces in the form of nitro lacquer cracks and slight hardware aging. The composition of the nitro lacquer was also taken into account here, so that the instrument can continue to develop a tasteful aging over time.
