The UNO Synth Pro X from IK Multimedia is a compact, analogue desktop synthesizer that places itself at the top of the UNO Synth family with its many knobs. Instead of the parameter matrix, the user can expect a tidy control panel with clear multiple assignments and directly recognizable shift functions. This is joined by an X0X-style sequencer that can be programmed intuitively.

The analogue sound generation gets its rich sound foundation from three oscillators with variable waveforms including PWM. The possibilities in the area of tone generators are further expanded with FM, ring modulation, noise generator and hardsync. For processing the distinctive basic sound, two filters are available at once. The 12dB OTA Multimode filter and the 12/24dB SSI filter can be used together or alternatively and combined in serial or parallel configuration. Depending on the setting of the two filters, you can also achieve interesting notch and bandpass filtering. Liveness is added to the beautiful sound with three ADSR envelopes and two very flexible LFOs. If that's not enough, the modulation matrix provides 16 entries where almost everything can be linked and modulated like modulating the level of oscillator 2 with envelope 3 or controlling the Waveshaping via Velocity. The final touch is given to the sounds by three effect slots, divided into reverb, delay and modulation, each offering several effect variations. The last element in the signal path is an analogue distortion unit that gives every sound, no matter how subtle, a good boost.

Complex patterns in the blink of an eye
The intuitive step sequencer has a recording length of up to 64 steps (four bars) per pattern and even masters parameter locks. Up to 48 parameters per step can be programmed. Note input is fast and fluid: press record, select a step, transpose if necessary, press note and add accent and slide if needed, and done. Shuffle, variable note length, playback direction and paraphony complete the features. With these possibilities, the UNO Synth Pro X cuts an excellent figure as an analogue groovebox. With ten playback patterns, the arpeggiator offers much more than the standard and also allows you to create your own arpeggio patterns. Thanks to the full MIDI implementation, the synthesizer can be conveniently automated via a master sequencer or a DAW.
