Thanks to its solid tone woods, the Ortega RUNAB-SO Soprano Ukulele produces a powerful and warm sound that unfolds extensively even with light strokes. So the instrument is suitable for Pickings as well as for accompanying strummings. The neck promises the player in combination with a generous cutaway an extremely comfortable playability up to the highest frets, so that even complex fingerings and chords can be mastered easily. With the help of black tuners without transmission the 4 nylon strings can be tuned quickly and precisely. This is supported by the tuner integrated in the Preamp of the in-house pickup. Conveniently, the ukulele comes with a bag.
Construction and woods
Since the entire body is made of solid bamboo, the Sopran Ukulele can produce any tone in a fast response. At the same time, the neck, which is also made entirely of bamboo, guarantees obliging fingering in all 15 frets.
Hardware and Design
To ensure that the ukulele intonates cleanly over the entire scale length of 350 mm, the saddle and the 36 mm wide nut are precisely matched. The headstock is equipped with black GraphTech Ratio tuners, which allow a very precise tuning. Visually, the instrument is completed by discreet black bindings on the body and neck, which contrast pleasantly with the tonewoods used. The soundhole is surrounded by a lasered double-ring rosette, which completes the overall appearance.
Electronics
The Ortega MagusUke pickup system is built into the body, which picks up the sound via a piezo element under the saddle and sends it directly to the respective amplifier. The output signal can be individually adjusted in color and volume via the preamp placed in the frame. The system is powered by two button cell batteries.
