SED by Rides In The Storm is a discrete lowpass filter with mixer and VCA. The signal path in the module starts with the audio mixer with three adjustable inputs. An overdrive can be activated between the mixer and the filter to make the filter harder. The filter itself is a classic 24dB lowpass filter with a round sound. The resonance of the filter can be boosted again. The end of the signal path in the module is marked by the output of the filter, so that SED does not necessarily have to be the end of a module chain. On the other hand, the filter is normalised to the VCA, so that the level can be controlled as with a separate VCA. Since the VCA can also be used independently, the module can be used for two independent tasks, making SED an excellent backend module for small systems where space is scarce and the functions are chosen carefully.
