Easily share your projects and graphics, publish your music or help others immerse themselves in the world of music theory. With Dorico Elements 5, you are perfectly equipped when it comes to sheet music!
Version 5 of the software now includes stage and room templates to help you design your sound. Try out different configurations and position the instruments on a virtual stage. You can easily move them around while Dorico automatically applies the panorama and reverb settings. Experiment with different rooms, recall previous settings using customizable mixer snapshots, rearrange outputs, create send busses and much more!
The program reads the notes of your score like a musician and automatically applies various articulations and playing techniques using your chosen sample library. Thanks to sophisticated algorithms, the output is more realistic than ever before, and phrases can be played like a real musician.
With the entry-level version of Steinberg's creative drum VST Groove Agent SE, you get a version of "The Kit", an acoustic drum kit recorded at Teldex Studios in Berlin. It contains more than 400 MIDI drum patterns recorded by top studio drummers, which can be dragged and dropped onto the track overview in playback mode. Naturally, you can not only control them, but also change them as you wish to add your own personal touch.
Thanks to the new MIDI trigger regions, notes or chords can be created that trigger MIDI patterns of a plug-in but do not appear in the score. This is practical when triggering MIDI patterns in plug-ins such as Groove Agent SE or other pattern-based instruments such as TGuitar.
If you are writing for real drummers or guitarists, the part does not have to be completely notated: Simply write down the form of the piece including rhythmic cues and chord symbols for the musicians and let them do the rest. However, if you want a realistic output without real musicians, pattern-based plug-ins can save a lot of time.
Another new feature is the scrub playback function, which allows you to preview the entire ensemble or a single instrument at any point and navigate forwards or backwards through the output at any speed. This is particularly useful if you want to quickly check harmonies, find wrong notes or concentrate on specific moments in the piece.
The functions for quickly editing and copying music with the mouse have been revised so that selected notes can be changed in pitch by clicking and dragging or rhythmic positions can be moved/copied to any position. The live overlay shows exactly where the notes are moved to. In general, direct interaction with the mouse, in the score or in the key editor makes it easier and faster to create your music.
The widely used MusicXML format is perfect for exchanging notation data between different applications. Dorico 5 provides extended support for the import of harmonics, playing instructions, ornaments, stop and rest signs and much more. The MusicXML export has also been improved and now includes page layout information as well as support for saving information about the music and text fonts used in the project.
Also on board are eight new font families to add variety to your projects. These are four handwritten fonts and four music notation fonts, which are available with just one click.
