The 1010 Music BlueBox Eurorack Edition at a glance
The BlueBox Eurorack Edition from 1010 Music is a digital mixer with twelve audio inputs, effects, MIDI control and audio recorder. The extended and slightly modified module corresponds to the desktop version in all specifications. The twelve audio inputs can be configured to stereo pairs as desired, with eg. two stereo tracks, eight mono tracks remaining. The four audio outputs are also freely assignable; in most setups, two stereo outputs will probably prove their worth. A headphone output rounds off the audio connections sensibly, so you can "listen in-depth" directly at the module. Six CV inputs expand the creative possibilities of the BlueBox immensely, routed to Panning or FX-Send you have your hands free again for the performance with the corresponding CV sources. Level-wise, the inputs handle line and Eurorack levels. Besides some buttons and four encoders, the 3.5" touchscreen acts as the central input element. Volume, gain, a parametric 4-band EQ, panorama, mute, solo and the internal effect sends can be set for each channel.
Effects and other amenities
In the field of effects, 1010 Music already enjoys a good reputation in the Eurorack modular world, as the internal send effects Delay and reverb as well as the master compressor are of high quality. Selected tracks are recorded to the MicroSD card with studio-quality audio of 24 bit / 48 kHz, effect and routing settings are also included. The maximum recording time depends on the size of the storage medium. After recording, you can simply drag the tracks from the memory card into the DAW as needed and work them out there. The connection to MIDI equipment is versatile. MIDI inputs and outputs via TRS adapters are available for synchronization with a drum machine or master sequencer. USB-C EXT allows the connection of a controller to tackle several tracks at the same time. Via USB-C DEV the stereo mix is transferred directly to a DAW. The BlueBox Eurorack Edition has everything on board to be the central mixer and recorder in the modular system. Whether as a workhorse in the studio, a playback source for pre-recorded material, or for mixing and recording live sessions, BlueBox can handle it.
