Behringer’s popular FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller is considered a Classic among MIDI all-rounders.
Next to 100 programmable presets slots, this controller features two complete Expression pedals for real-time control of effect parameters and volume. Even “Note-On” commands for Tempo Tap functions are no problem for the FCB1010. In addition, up ti 5 MIDI signals can be processes simultaneously.
A very good midi footcontroller for its price.
I use it to control my Cicognani Imperivm h120 amp and TC Electronic G-major 2 multieffects processor.
it is Very Robust ( its built like a tank )
Lots of features and possibilities
Lots of info on the internet
- Its quite tricky to program at first for a "midi newbie" but there are a lots of info on the internet that helps
If it was stolen i would definitely buy a new.
This unit is just plain amazing but not for the faint-hearted.
To use it manually or through an software editor, you do need to search the forums (the one in Yahoo groups is amazing with lots of info and links on how to make the best out of the FCB1010).
It will help a lot if you have some midi knowledge and some degree of patience to learn how to handle it.
Being more objective:
The construction is really solid!
Having a software editor is a must to avoid hours of tap-dancing the unit.
The installation of a 3rd party Eprom should be highly considered as they circumvent lots of quirks that the original one has. be careful that doing that will totally void the warranty.
The pedals are ok and do the job perfectly.
Be careful with the MIDI-interface that you use as there seem to some issues with some of them - not recognizing the FCB1010 leading to the belief that the unit is mal-functioning.
Be sure to go the forums and search for the FCB limitations and possibilities.
The unit has a legion of fans as it is the most affordable in the market, so the solutions and issues are somewhat well covered.
For a complete beginner in MIDI i would not recommend the unit as this is just a controller and needs to be adapted to the goal in hand, whether its ELEVEN, V-AMP, a DAW or any other unit or software from Behringer or not.
For me I am totally satisfied with it! if fits my purposes perfectly and I can now control an array of Software programs such as GuitarRig, and live-loopers like Mobius...
I would buy it again, for sure!
I as really surprised how solid it is Behringer is of course unbeatable bang-for-the-buck :-) There is someone on the Internet selling an Eprom with a couple of software bugs fixed and a better "stomp-box" mode for the switches.
Im using it with EurekaPROM and they are perfect together.
Its very well built but a little heavy because of the power supply inside the unit I guess. Other than that, it serves me very well.
İt has never been easier to control my Eleven Rack. Im very happy with the result.
Thanks to Musicstore for reasonable price and fast shipping.
