The Cordoba 14 Maple has an unusual construction, which significantly affects both the sound and handling. Thus, with a shortened scale length of 640 mm, the neck/body transition is located at the 14th fret. In addition, the generous cutaway in the lower rib optimizes access to the higher registers. Sonically, the nylon string guitar convinces with a bright and at the same time extensive sound, which unfolds quickly and over a wide area thanks to a fan bracing. Visually, the instrument is rounded off by a thin high-gloss finish that tastefully emphasizes the grain of the installed tonewoods.
Since the top is made of solid spruce, the Cordoba 14 Maple produces a defined sound with a powerful midrange and treble frequencies. Meanwhile, the back and sides are made of laminated curly maple for an almost attack. The slim mahogany neck features a flat 'C' profile that makes it much easier to grip. The ebony fingerboard features 21 frets for comfortable access.
To ensure that each string sounds clean throughout the scale length, the saddle and 48mm wide nut are crafted from bone and matched to each other with millimetre precision. In addition, the strings can be easily tuned with the help of chrome-plated classical tuners. To make the instrument suitable for stage use, a high-quality Fishman Presys II pickup system with a 2-band equalizer and integrated tuner is built into the body. The top is surrounded by a dark Pau Ferro binding, which creates a pleasant contrast to the light colour of the top and the body.
