With the EMG GZR PJ set, Rob Turner's pickup company tailors a passive pickup set for Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler. The declared goal of both pickups is to create the classic P bass vintage tone and feeling of the early Sabbath recordings of the seventies like'Paranoid' or'War Pigs'. The GZR P features traditional Alnico V magnets and specially wound coils for the right amount of punch and grit and of course an ideal balance between GZR P and GZR J pickup.
The GZR J also has two separate coils to represent the classic J-style vintage tone with simultaneous abstinence from the infamous single coil humming. In addition, the GZR J is slightly hotter wound and produces far more low end punch than its peers.
