With the Electro Harmonix Op-Amp Big Muff Pi, the New York-based effects company has reissued the late seventies version of the popular OD effect, whose circuit uses op-amps instead of discrete transistors for the first time. Accordingly, the compact effect pedal convinces with violent distortion sound, which invites to forge fat distortion riffs with the right amount of dirt. The sustain, tone and volume controls can be used to precisely determine the tone character, while the tone control can be bypassed for the most merciless sound variation.
