Heavy Relic Stratocaster with Ancho Poblano Pickups - Masterbuilt by Dale Wilson
The Fender '69 Heavy Relic Stratocaster Candy Apple Red over Gold Sparkle demonstrates impressive craftsmanship and classic Fender clays. Designed and finished Instrument by Fender Masterbuilder Dale Wilson , this is a complete 1969 styling and features a coveted Color over Color Closet Classic paint scheme consisting of Gold Sparkle and Candy Apple Red . The playing technique is based on a powerful maple neck from the original 1969 Stratocaster , while on the sound side three Ancho Poblano Single coils wound by Master Pickup Winder Josefina Campos provide the famous Strat sounds. Here a blend control is used instead of the second tone, which allows the continuous insertion of the neck or Bridge pickup in all positions.
Fenders '69 Heavy Relic Strat presents authentic specs of the late sixties in exotic Candy Apple Red over Gold Sparkle finish.
The two-piece alder body is connected to the maple neck via the classic 4-point screw connection.
alder body & 1969 'U' maple neck
For an authentic Strat 1969 construction, Masterbuilder Dale Wilson relies on a classic two-piece alder body. This is screwed in a traditional Strat manner to a one-piece neck made of quartersawn Maple , which represents the powerful U-neck profile of the late sixties instruments and, thanks to the Heavy Relic finish on the back, conveys the coveted feeling of a well-rehearsed instrument right from the start. Last but not least the neck of the '69 Heavy Relic Stratocaster is finished with a rosewood fingerboard in historically correct Round Laminated construction.
True collectibles: All three Custom Shop Ancho Poblano Single coils were hand-wound by Master Pickup Winder Josefina Campos.
