The Göldo NT50C Roller String Tree (Chrome) is a single String Tree for Guitars with 2x Rollers, designed for use in Guitar Maintenance work. String Trees are installed onto the Headstock of an Instrument, where they are used as a String Guide.
this string trees are very useful, i bought this as a replacement for my squier classic vibe telecaster, and this is very good, the part that is in contact with the string it rotates preventing the string to be deformed and be stuck causing the tunnig of the instrument more accurate.
These rolling string trees do what they are designed to do well, increasing tuning stability and keeping the tension required on a guitar with a straight/flat headstock.
I bought two of these to replace the T-shaped stock string retainers on a battered old Affinity series Squire. This model of replica strat typically has one string tree around the A string tuner and another at the D string tuner. However, as this second string tree is at a lower height, I had to chisel into the body of the headstock to get the same tension as the retainer that I was removing, something that not everybody would be confident, or want to do if they are upgrading a more valuable instrument. It would be ideal if Göldo sold a second string tree where the contact point is 3mm from the body of the headstock.
I would recommend this specifically for models of guitar that only have one such retainer with a point of contact in the 6-8mm height range. If you want to use this to replace a string tree with a lower height, either look elsewhere or be prepared to modify the headstock to sort of countersink the string tree into the body of the headstock.
