Mutant Machine Audio Demos
The Mutant Machine from Hexinverter Electronique is an analogue Drum synthesizer with an extremely rich sound palette. In terms of sound, the module covers pretty much everything from hard bass drums, classic 909 snares, noisy percussions and harsh industrial sounds to atonal sounds. It requires a little familiarization, but this is rewarded with extremely dynamic sounds.
Analog drum sounds from outer space
At the heart of the sound generation are two inverter core oscillators with the waveforms sine, triangle and square, which form the membrane. The oscillators are also able to change their waveform automatically. If you want to take your experiments with the module to the extreme, you can swap the audio signals generated by Waves 1 and 2 and the noise generator for other sound sources. The middle section deals with the Tuning oscillators, the decay envelopes for Pitch and membrane as well as the wave scanner. This selects the next waveform from one or both oscillators; the speed at which this is done ranges from moderate to clock sync and into the audio range. The Snappy section, which features a voltage-controlled noise oscillator and click/pulse for the attack phase, can also be used independently and is then suitable for rimshot-like sounds, HiHats and cymbals, among other things.
Instant techno!
The Mutant Machine delivers a veritable firework of sounds, especially in a rhythmic context using a trigger sequencer and clock-synchronized LFOs, the module is a guarantee for percussions from outa space, lots of common sounds that fill "gaps" between the sounds of TR classics and complex loops that almost create a track in their own right. The Drum synthesizer with black front panel was created in collaboration with Erica Synths.
