The main features of the Marantz PMD661 Mk3 2-Channel Handheld Solid-State Recorder include:
I have used Marantz 660 - 661 (MK 1) and 661 (MK 3) - These are simple to use and without many facilities. I record in mono and the sound quality is broadcast quality. Some reviewers complain about noisy pre-amps. Never a problem if the input is set correctly. I use Sennheiser MD46 for noisy environments and Sennheiser MD21 for general interviews. Superb combination and reliable. The 661 MK3 does not have the options available on many recorders. But for professional use: it is a brilliant working instrument.
