The PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal at a glance
With the PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal #0388286, the premium guitar maker from Stevensville, Maryland presents an interpretation of the successful Custom 24 model that is fully geared towards metal and shredding. In addition to the mahogany body with chic flamed maple top, the electric guitar has a glued maple neck, whose flat "Pattern Thin" profile guarantees extremely agile playing characteristics on the rosewood fingerboard with the coveted bird inlays. Powerful PRS \m/ humbuckers on the guitar amplifier also ensure wide-ranging metal sounds with crisp definition. Last but not least, the eponymous Floyd Rose Original double-locking tremolo completes the PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal.
The PRS Custom 24 Floyd Rose Charcoal #0388286 is a first-class metal guitar in the well-known elegant PRS design.
The glued mahogany neck of the PRS Custom 24 Floyd lies comfortably in the hand with its "Pattern Thin" profile.
Fine woods and detailed workmanship
For the construction of the PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal, the luthiers and Paul Reed Smith only use selected woods that result in a perfect sound and playing experience. Selected mahogany is used for the body, while the solid curly maple top has a strong and even flame. The glued maple neck with its well-shaped "Pattern Thin" profile offers the perfect balance between a rich grip and smooth playability so that riffs and solos can be played quickly and easily. In the rosewood fingerboard, more traditional bird inlays provide the best orientation between the 24 frets.
Two PRS \m/ humbuckers with powerful ceramic magnets provide hot sounds on the amplifier, while the Floyd Rose tremolo acknowledges even heavy whammy bar action without detuning.
PRS \m/ humbucker for hot sounds
The PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal features two PRS \m/ humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions. Specially developed for guitarists of the harder genres, the pickups rely on powerful ceramic magnets for an extremely hot output. Accordingly, the guitar amplifier provides aggressive yet cleanly articulated sounds that let riffs whip out of the speakers with a tight response, while solos are made to sing with a long Sustain. Via the 5-way blade switch, the coils of the humbucker can be called up in different combinations, so that several sound nuances are available in the guitar sound.
PRS Phase III locking tuners work on the headstock of the PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal.
High-quality hardware
The features of the PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal are completed by high-quality hardware. On the body side, the Floyd Rose Original Double-Locking Tremolo is used, which takes even unbridled actions with the vibrato lever without detuning. Six PRS Phase III locking tuners work behind the nut, which not only ensure a precise Tuning, but also make changing strings much easier thanks to the clamping function. The PRS Custom 24 Floyd Charcoal is also supplied in an elegant PRS case, which offers the electric guitar the best possible protection during transportation.
