Straightforward PRS Gitarre for stage and studio
With the PRS S2 Standard 24 McCarty Tobacco Sunburst, Paul Reed Smith presents a straightforward electric guitar from US production that turns out to be an ideal workhorse for stage and recording studio. Based on the classic set-neck design with mahogany body and neck, the electric guitar offers optimal playing characteristics thanks to the "Pattern Thin" neck profile and flat body silhouette, while PRS 58/15 "S" humbuckers elicit classically influenced guitar tones with harmonic all-round qualities for almost any genre. naturally PRS completes the S2 Standard 24 McCarty Tobacco Sunburst electric guitar with self-developed attachments in the form of the PRS Tremolo system and tuning stable low mass Locking tuners.
The PRS S2 Standard 24 McCarty Tobacco Sunburst is a straightforward electric guitar with first-class handling and a lively sound.
The glued mahogany neck of the S2 Standard 24 electric guitar fits comfortably in the hand due to the "Pattern Thin" profile.
Set-neck design with first-class handling
The no-frills design of the S2 Standard 24 dispenses with extensive optical refinements, instead focusing on lively sound characteristics and agile handling. The classic set-neck construction with mahogany body and glued mahogany neck creates the basis for powerful sounds with sensitive dynamics, while the flat design of the body guarantees agile handling of the guitar both on the strap and on the thigh. The haptic highlight of the electric guitar turns out to be the flat "Pattern Thin" neck profile, which, with a thickness of 21 mm at the first fret, lies comfortably in the hand and, on the rosewood fingerboard, allows every playing technique to go off with ease.
PRS 58/15 "S" humbuckers with optional coil split deliver diverse clean and overdrive sounds with classic tonal character at the guitar amp.
58/15 "S" Humbucker
For the pickup of the S2 Standard 24 electric guitar, PRS chooses two in-house 58/15 "S" humbuckers. Designed to meet the needs of both traditional and modern guitarists, the classic-style pickups combine a rich vintage sound with a precise representation of even the finest playing details, so that overdrive settings are presented with the necessary punch, while clean sounds bubble out of the speakers with richness and harmony. Thanks to coil split switching via the Push/Pull switch in the Tone control, the S2 Standard 24 also delivers brilliant single coil tones with bell-bright representation of every note.
PRS Low Mass Locking Tuners keep the S2 Standard 24 guitar securely in tune even after frequent reaches for the tremolo lever.
PRS Hardware
Last but not least, Paul Reed Smith Guitars completes the equipment of the S2 Standard 24 with reliable Hardware from the in-house development department. The bridge is of course the PRS Molded Tremolo, which not only convinces with a smooth handling of the tremolo lever, but also offers the hand a comfortable support for palm mutes and similar playing techniques due to the rounded edges. Six individually adjustable string saddles also ensure accurate intonation and comfortable string placement. On the headstock, lightweight PRS Low Mass Locking tuners also provide unshakable tuning stability and record-speed string changes.
I just got this guitar, and out of the box the playability is top notch! I adjusted it to my taste, and it is absolutely fantastic. I love the satin finish, the tuning stability, neck shape, switching and sonic possibilities. This is a seriously good instrument - I cannot believe how good it is, especially at this price point. Great job PRS, and thank you Musicstore for getting it out to me so quickly!
