With the PreSonus Sceptre S8, you'll be amazed to hear fine nuances you've never heard in your music before. This high quality, two way monitor has an immersive and detailed panoramic sound paired with dynamics that will leave you in awe.
The magic behind this sound, isn't really magic at all. It is produced by PreSonus' Coaxial Condrum speaker. Coaxial designs offer all the advantages for a consistent acoustic centre and a symmetrical dispersion pattern. Most monitors are equipped with multi way, non-coaxial speakers that all suffer the same problems. The changing of your positioning in the room, and the coverage of the speaker. As you move around the sound can become inconsistent, and the point of cross over between the drivers can sometimes be audible.
The coaxial design solves this by having the drivers on the same axis, providing a single point source for a consistent acoustic centre. The result of this of this is a symmetry of response on both axis and any given angles. This gives you stunning, realistic sound no matter where you are in the room.
The Sceptre S8 features a DSP chip that allows for the full use of the Coaxial Condrum. Normally, there'll be compromises in physical systems. Not every driver is perfect and not every driver can have perfect hardware. To overcome these, most apply DSP in the form of multiband EQ's but the processing is more or less an afterthought—it’s not accounted for in the design of the transducer. The DSP chip does things a bit differently. It uses 'TQ' algorithms to solve these problems and provides a crisper stereo image, greater soundstage depth, more separation between the components of a complex mix, increased resistance to feedback, more seamless transitions between distributed loudspeakers, and a less fatiguing listening experience at very high SPLs
The S8 combines an 8-inch low/mid-frequency driver and a 1-inch (25 mm), horn-loaded, high-frequency transducer into a single coaxial unit with aligned voice coils. Combined with acoustic ports on the front, the bass response is deep, clear and powerful. It is bi-amplified and each transducer is powered by a 90W RMS, class D power amp.
The PreSonus Sceptre S8 uses innovating technology, top-quality components that's placed into a great quality construction. All these combine to a package that not only does its job well, it does it with style and quality.
