The Sandberg California TM4 Swamp Ash RW Natural High Gloss is equipped with Delano pickups and an active 2-band tone control, to deliver a powerful sound spectrum. The body made of sump ash, whose intensively drawn grain is visible through the natural finish sets visual highlights.
The core of the Sandberg California TM4 Swamp Ash RW Natural High Gloss is the body of swamp ash, whose transparent high-gloss finish reveals the intensive grain of this wood. A typical feature of Sandberg is the sixfold bolting of the maple neck, it guarantees a perfect connection to the body for an even sustain and crisp attack.
The pickups of the Sandberg California TM4 Swamp Ash RW Natural High Gloss come from Delano. The T-style single coil on the neck has a transparent, but foundation-strong reproduction; the M-style humbucker on the bridge delivers a powerful force sound whose enormous thrust hammered every note into the pit of the stomach. With the active 2-band tone control, the sound can also be precisely adjusted.

I needed a backup bass for my trusty Fender Jazz. After reading researching the instruments on-line and never having played one I took a chance and bought the Sandberg California TM4. I've played 100's of basses over the years and have never found an instrument that I would regard as superior to the Fender Jazz range - until now. The Sandberg ticks all the boxes: fast neck, warm sound, great electronics, perfect weight distribution (same weight as the Fender but feels lighter). I really cannot fault it except to say the stock strings do the instrument no justice. I am now the happy owner of two Sandberg Californian's and have sold my Fender Jazz as it just cannot compete with the Sandbergs.
Very pleased with purchase. Able to have a nice low action as neck has no nasty high frets. Cant fault it especially for the price.
