Classically built 5-string Bass with 35" scale length and Delano pickups
With the Sandberg California TM5 35" Greenline PF Black Satin B-Stock, the Brunswick-based company presents a five-string electric bass that uses proven woods and powerful Delano pickups to deliver versatile tones with a distinctly vintage nuance. In addition to the ash body, the five-string features a six-ply maple neck with Pau Ferro fretboard, while the extra-long 35" supports a tight sound from the B string. Of course, the typical hardware features of Sandberg Bridge 5 and Sandberg Machine Heads complete the California TM5 35" Greenline Bass. As a B-Stock instrument, the five-string features three small dents and a lacquer nose on the inside of the upper body horn.
The Sandberg California TM5 35" Greenline PF Black Satin B-Stock convinces with first-class playing characteristics and a versatile sound spectrum.
The ash body and maple neck of the Sandberg California TM5 are screwed together six times in typical company fashion.
Proven wood base and first-class playing characteristics
For the construction of the Sandberg California TM5 35" PF, the bass builders from Braunschweig not only rely on proven woods, but also on an extra-long 35" scale length (889 mm) to achieve a crisp sound with especially tight and precise output of the B-string. With ash for the body and the six-ply maple neck with Pau Ferro fingerboard, traditional tonewoods are used here. The pleasantly flat "C" profile with just 20 mm of wood under the first fret also promises comfortable playing characteristics that make even complex bass lines and grooves go easily from the fingers.
Sandberg Greenline
As a member of the Sandberg Greenline, the California TM5 35" Greenline PF Black Satin B-Stock #43092 presents itself as a sustainable instrument with a special character. And to make a statement against the unnecessary waste of natural resources, Sandberg uses woods for the California TM5 35" Greenline Bass that would have ended up in the scrap bin due to irregularities in grain and color, but make the Bass absolutely unique without compromising reliability and functionality. In cooperation with the United Kids Foundation forest, a tree is also planted for the reforestation of the resin for every Sandberg Greenline Bass sold.
Powerful Delano pickups and an active 2-band tone control give the five-string bass a diverse sound spectrum.
Powerful versatility thanks to Delano pickups
The pickups of the California TM5 come from Delano and convince not only with their versatile sound spectrum, whose pleasant vintage nuances are always recognizable, but also with a precise output of the H-string. A wide spectrum of different tonal nuances can be accessed via the blend control, ranging from the rich, assertive low-end thrust of the Delano MCFE humbucker installed close to the bridge to the fat, yet transparent sound of the Delano JMVC single-coil. To further customize the sound, furthermore, the active 2-band tone control and the split switch for the humbucker are available, which retrieves authentic single-coil sounds.
Lightweight Sandberg Machine Heads with open gears guarantee accurate and stable tuning of the California TM5.
Sandberg Hardware
Of course, high-quality Hardware from our own house harmoniously rounds off the equipment of the Sandberg California TM5 35" Greenline PF Black Satin B-Stock. On the body of the bass guitar the strings are held by the Sandberg Bridge 5, whose massive construction contributes significantly to the even sound of the five-string. Due to the three-dimensional adjustability, furthermore a perfect adjustment of intonation as well as string action and spacing is guaranteed. At the headstock, the strings are guided via zero fret and saddle to the indestructible Sandberg Machine Heads, which guarantee a reliable tuning of the electric Bass.
