Walnut wood for an outstanding and warm sound

Taylor, known worldwide for their quality, use only the best woods with distinctive textures and defined sound qualities to build their high-quality custom shop instruments. A solid walnut body in traditional Grand-Pacific construction provides a warm and expressive sound, which is especially pronounced in the bass and mid frequencies and produces a clear tone. In order to create a light and powerful response, a V-Class bracing is installed under the top, which, due to its two-dimensional vibration behaviour, allows the sound to subside persistently in the overtones. Similar to other hard woods, American walnut needs several years to develop its full sonic potential, resulting in a slight but noticeable development every time the player reaches for the guitar. Thanks to a super-thin high-gloss finish, the observer gets a deep insight into the coarse structure of the walnut wood, which is interspersed with pronounced flames and extends evenly from the intersection of the top and the back towards the exquisite binding of African ebony.

A mahogany neck with a unique profile

To ensure excellent playability and perfect access to all 20 frets, the Taylor Custom Grand Pacific LTD guitar has a mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard. The sophisticated profile of the neck is not only gentle to the touch, but also ensures perfect intonation in every position. A saddle width of 44.5 mm in combination with a scale length of 647.7 mm offers enough space in all positions, so even fingerstyle experts can get their money's worth. The dark ebony fingerboard, specially selected for the custom shop, creates a perfect harmony between the materials used and gives the instrument an individual touch with its multi-faceted marbling. The typical Taylor headstock is equipped with tuners made of polished bronze. The smooth-running machine heads not only enable precise tuning, but also match the other components perfectly and round off the guitar's aesthetics perfectly.

Hardware and accessories

A high-quality Taylor Expression System 2 completes the set, allowing for wider use of the instrument and a very natural reproduction of the acoustic sound image with its adjustment options. Three knobs in the frame allow the bass, treble and volume to be conveniently adjusted and the sound to be individually adapted to the characteristics of the speaker. The three pickups are located under the saddle and allow fine tuning for each of the three string pairs by adjusting grub screws. For safe transport and optimal storage, the instrument comes in a fancy custom shop case, which with its blue interior, beige cover with brown decorative seams and golden fasteners perfectly matches its high-quality content.Sewn into the lid is the company logo with its motto and the unmistakable "Custom" lettering.
