Metron from WMD is a well-equipped drum sequencer with 16 tracks and live-ready operation. The layout of the module is designed so that you can view 16 steps - i.e. one bar - of four tracks at the same time. Alternatively, the zoom mode provides access to the first 64 of a pattern up to 256 steps (16 bars) long. In addition to the tried-and-tested TR grid, Metron also offers input options such as quantized tapping, pattern randomizer, programmable trigger probability, Burst and Ratcheting per step and variable pattern length per track. With performance features such as five pattern variations in instant recall, fill effects and track mute, Metron has a lot to offer in terms of flexibility. Practical details such as copying, pasting and deleting entire patterns or individual tracks make preparatory work much easier. As all patterns are stored on a MicroSD card, there is no need to worry about running out of memory. On the connection side, Metron offers 16 Gate/Trigger outputs with associated LEDs for visualizing the trigger events. The two assignable CV inputs (Assign In) enable the triggering of 16 different functions such as eg. Recording start, roll, Random or variation prev/next. Clock and Reset inputs and outputs enable synchronized operation with other clockable modules and even devices with Din-Sync connection (TR-808, TB-303, TR-606).
