The Mixars Primo is a Serato DJ compatible plug-and-play, DJ controller and DJ mixer. It features touch-sensitive 6-inch aluminum jog wheels with integrated display. Thanks to the extremely low latency, the wheels are ideal for scratch performances. In addition, the Mixars Primo has an effects section with, among others, filter, noise, crush and gate effects that can be used in Serato DJ as well as stand-alone for analogue playback devices. A total of 16 backlit RGB performance pads allow you to trigger cue points, rolls, slicers or operate the Serato sampler. The sync buttons can also be used to control Serato's beat and key matching functions. The Mixars Primo is already unlocked for the full version of Serato DJ Pro, so you can get started right away without entering a license code! On top of that, the 2-channel DJ controller is Serato DVS Upgrade Ready, so it can also be used with time code media. Since the Primo is completely MIDI-capable, integration into other MIDI-capable software is also possible without any problems. The adjustable aux input on the front of the controller, together with the line and phono switchable mixer, rounds off the overall picture and places a special emphasis on flexibility
At this price point I'm struggling to find a negative. I've only just started to explore this controller but every element I touch on blows my mind. A truly brilliant bit of kit..........I have always had pioneer or technics and thought nothing could come close but I'm happy to admit I was wrong, so wrong.
At £292 at the moment ( £140 cheaper than anywhere else ) this thing is outstanding.
With easy setup even after being rusty and not using a new controller in over 6 years.
The build is solid, it looks fantastic and lights up like a Xmas tree, the sound is a real improvement and the feel of the sliders and buttons are of real quality. I was looking for a quality controller/mixer with XLR outs for under £500 and this thing does everything with ease and I have change. I am not using serato but VDJ as all my playlists, songs and cue points are set from my other controller.
As soon as I plugged it to my laptop it auto installed, then I popped over to the mixar website to download the drivers and paid a monthly fee of £17 for VDJ.
At first nothing happened but a quick look at the buttons and I had to switch to deck 1 and deck 2 then everything lit up.
Only time will tell if it lasts but everything perfect at the moment.
The Mixars Primo is a great all round controller.
Solid build, range of features and loads of connection options this is definitely one of the best in the price range.
Very sturdy well built controller, bristling with professional features far above its immediate competition. Excellent sound quality that again stands out from the herd. The current price at DV247 is unbeatable and with the complimentary 3 year guarantee I or you simply could not get a better deal and service.
