The EVH Wolfgang Special (Polar White) is a 6-string Electric Guitar equipped with 2x EVH humbuckers and a Floyd Rose Tremolo. The comfortable Basswood body profile and bolt-on Maple neck are classic build choices; however the magic is in the quarter-sawn Maple for the neck. A cut often reserved for custom-shop level Guitars, this grain-direction choice means the wood in the neck is far more stable and less liable to warping, or developing flat-spots as there is no cross-grain.
Constructed with a comfortable neck profile and compound radius fretboard (12"-16"), The EVH Wolfgang Special is a tactile and effortless instrument to play, that sits nicely in the playing hand, while the compact, off-set body shape allows the player to really get ‘around the Guitar’.
Personally developed by Eddie himself, the EVH Wolfgang Humbuckers provide a hot output and balanced reproduction across all frequencies, offering a fat tone with bundles of harmonic depth. Controlled by a 3-way toggle switch as well as volume and tone pots, classic and modern tones are available. Interestingly, the pots are outfitted with different resistors – this gives a very smooth response on the volume pot, allowing violin-like volume swells, whilst the slightly stiffer tone control is harder to nudge out of position whilst in the throes of a religious rock n’ roll experience!
In addition, the Floyd Rose Tremolo and locking nut provide perfect tuning stability even with the most aggressive dive-bombs. The EVH D-Tuna on the low E-string enables a lightning-fast conversion to drop-tuning, without the need for the bridge to be adjusted.
