Weather Drones by EoWave is an interesting combination of synth voice and drone machine. The core of the module is a digital oscillator with a triangle waveform that can be spread up to eight times. The result is diffuse and slightly metallic sounds that seem very wide due to the shift. This is followed by a wavefolder, which bends the generated sound spectrum according to all rules of art. Downstream of the wavefolder is the VCA, which modulates from the A/D envelope. The last link in the signal path is the analog lowpass filter, which clearly colors the sound and subtly goes into resonance. Further modulation of the sound shaping elements includes an LFO with triangle and square waveform, sample & hold, noise generator and the freely patchable A/D envelope of course. The expected sound spectrum moves between timeless sci-fi effects, some Buchla sounds, technoides, noisy and a lot of raw industrial sound.
