With the Epiphone Les Paul Standard '60s, Epiphone offers authentic Sixties Les Paul flair and character-rich sounds. The Les Paul from the Inspired by Gibson collection follows the original specifications with authentic designs and classic Epiphone Kalamazoo headstock of the sixties. The mahogany body is finished with a vividly grained maple top and features a set mahogany neck. The slim 1960s Slim Taper C profile evokes the agile feel of original Les Paul guitars of the sixties. For authentic sounds, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard '60s uses the full sound of an Epiphone ProBucker-2 on the neck and a ProBucker-3 on the bridge. The former produces warm and vocal neck sounds with a dynamic response, while its hotter wound counterpart at the bridge provides the ideal foundation for steaming riffs with a noticeable punch. Last but not least, the Les Paul Standard '60s is equipped with solid hardware in the form of a LockTone Tune-o-Matic and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
What a great guitar. Thoroughly recommend it if you can't stretch to the real deal. It's a quarter the price but much much more than quarter the instrument. Excellent value for money and great quality. Setup is pretty goo out of the box. Sound is amazing from the Probuckers and that mahogany body.
Epiphone have clearly stepped up since last I played one, sure, it's no Gibson Les Paul. But no theres not much difference anymore, no regrets at all.
