The Fame MS 12002 DSP is a 2240W 2-channel digital power amplifier that can be rack mounted. A digital signal processor (DSP) is used for the continuous processing of digital audio signals, while for processing analogue signals the DSP is used in conjunction with analogue to digital and digital to analogue converters. They are not only a substitute for the analogue filter technology, but also offer a range of functions such as phase-linear frequency filters or compression with dynamic parameters.
Front Panel
The front of the unit has a simple design which clearly shows the most important information about the power amplifier. On the left side there is a knob for adjusting the volume per channel, while 3x LEDs provide information about the state of the output stage. Directly next to it is the display, via which the current settings can be clearly displayed. To the right is the Rotary Dial/Push Button, which allows all settings to be made by turning or pressing. Set-up via Windows PC is a simple affair, the software needed being included with purchase. This allows the power amp to be conveniently configured by the computer via the front USB port. On the far right is the on/off switch.
Rear Connection Options
In order to be flexible and well-equipped for every event there are various inputs and outputs on the back. 2x XLR combo jacks and RCA inputs are available on the rear panel for connection to the console, while 2x XLR outputs can be used, for example, to connect to other amps. Furthermore, on the left side are the outputs for the speakers, where both screw terminals and Speaker Twist sockets can be used.
Here, among other things, it is possible to additionally set a low-cut filter at 120Hz or 90Hz. The middle switch allows you to change modes, i.e. you can choose between parallel mode, stereo mode or bridge mode, while the last switch determines the sensitivity of the input signal.
