A drum carpet achieves three goals: it ensures that everything stays where it is supposed to so that nothing slips or slides around, as the skies of bass drums and foot pedals have something to grab. With various markings, it can be a practical helper for drummers who are constantly setting up their kits over and over again at different locations. A drum carpet naturally also protects the surface of the floor it is on, which can be a big plus for those who like to have their kit in the living room.
The Fame drum carpet measures 170x170cm and offers ample room for a conventional setup- It is light weight and easy to transport. The rubber coating that stretches the whole surface of the under-side gives the carpet the secure hold it needs on any surface.
have struggled with bits of old carpet for over 50 years, treated myself to a decent drum mat, then the horrid virus happened !! all gigs cancelled . the mat looks great, folds well, so lines the floor of my estate car and drums load on top, my wife wantst it for the kitchen, (no chance) great !
I was looking around for drum mats, and a lot of them are either rectangular (so the throne doesn't sit on it), or they're really expensive. This is is big enough for a mid-sized kit, and the price is right. Seems well made, the edges are covered in canvas so it should last a while. Rubbing coating on the bottom seems plenty grippy. Only thing it's missing is a built-in strap, but that's easy enough to solve, and for the price I can't complain.
